Hey there,
I'm sooo bored at the moment - I have 3 months off uni, and I've got very little to get on with. I'll have to find myself something to do as it's kinda strange having nothing to do. I guess I could do some reading for my course next year, but then what would I do next year?? I guess I'd get better grades though, and with me wanting to go on to do a PhD, I could probably do with the extra study time...
I move to Mount Lawley next week... should be good to get back to my old campus, but I think I'll miss the proximity to the shops, etc. that I've got at Joondalup, and seriously think Joondalup's a nicer campus to attend than Mount Lawley. Oh well, maybe things have changed since I was last there, which was about 10 years ago.
I've got my last name change notification letter here waiting to get posted... once that's done, I'm all up to date, with the exception of getting a new British passport, that is. I have been thinking about my new name this week, and it's not really caught on all that well with people I already know - I mean, my friends call me Fr. Dougall, so the name change doesn't really bother them all that much, but my family are still calling me Stephen, and I'm finding that when I'm around them, I still lumber back into my old answering to, and calling myself Stephen mode - which is highly annoying. I want rid of it, but that's not to say that I don't like the name Stephen, or the fact that my mum gave me that name... I just don't like being called it, or going by it anymore, and it gets a little frustrating when I'm going about getting used to the new name, when people are still calling me Stephen. I had thought this week, that I might like to change it again next year, but I dunno... I really like the name Wood... but if I changed it next year (when I can - not allowed to change it again for a year) to Wood, I'd have to change the surname as well.. I mean... Wood Love???? Indeed... I was thinking about Tessin or something else, but I honestly don't want to get caught in a change your name to suit an occasion type of thing kinda trap. I have something in mind, but it might not go down very well with the family. It's just that... well, honestly... I get kinda embarrassed when I tell people my surname's Love. I want this sorted though, so maybe in 1 to 2 years time, I'll change it to what I think I really want it to be, but I'll probably just wait and see how things go in the meantime.
Enough about that...
I've been looking for information about a guy born in Essex in 1901 named Peter Austin. It's kinda personal as to why, but I think about it a lot these days. Oh look, I started getting memories and stuff about being someone born in London, in 1901... and I was named Peter Austin. Anyway, I started looking up Peter Austin in the british births records, and I found out that there was a guy named Peter Austin born in Dec 1901 in Essex, which is in Greater London. So, to those who may have been curious as to why I've been feeling homesick for London lately... now you know why ;o)
What else... well.. I haven't had any booze yesterday or today.. looks like I'm going for a 2 month record or something!!! Funny ;o)
I need to slim down - loose a lot of weight. Plans... ease up a lot on the drinking. Go jogging, or get a bike, and go out on it every day, which is an Idea I've been toying with for about 3 years or something like that... it's just finding the cash that's the problem. I want one that's about $600-$700, but I honestly don't know where I'd get the money from at the moment. Sure, I could save up for it, but that'd take me about or 5 months... and I'd also have to cut back on the alcohol as well. Yikes... I've got to get books for uni next semester, and they'll cost me about $500, so I'll have to start saving for them asap. I think I can manage putting $100/fornight away for them, but that leaves things a little tight, given I smoke, and how much I drink... but if I cut back on the drink, it should work out okay, and if I quit smoking, I'm set I think.
That's something else that's been on my mind, but I don't think I'll be giving up on the smoking till I'm done with it. Mind you.. I could very well just stop smoking one day and not say another word about it - who knows?
Lemme see...
- Study up for next year: that can wait till next year when I'm doing it
- Stop smoking: yeah.. I'm not done with it at the moment, but I might - who knows?
- Do some exercise: can't be arsed unless it's on a bikeor with some ab-swing type home equipment
- Stop drinking: I think I'll cut back to weekends and nights out, like I used to
- Produce some music: I don't feel inspired enough to sit down and produce anything at the moment
- Go for walks: I'd rather find something else to do at the moment, like playing soccer or something like
that, which I'd probably like to get into. but I'd probably have to get fit first
- Meet people? I probably should, but I don't think I'll be venturing in that direction much till next year some time,
or maybe even the year after
- Go on the net: I'm getting kinda bored with it, as there's not much that I really wanna look up anymore... i usually
just sit on facebook with my webmail client open... chek the news... stuff
I'm out of ideas at present... any ideas welcomed ;o)
Timothy.
